  1. LM Font Viewer and Printer
  2. Version 2.0
  3.  
  4.     This update to the LMFont program adds a printer font list that
  5. can be used to choose the starting point for printing.  The single character
  6. display will now update when you choose another font name from the Screen 
  7. Fonts list.  I have also included an ANSI chart that can be displayed or 
  8. printed.  The program works with ATM 2.0 as does the GS1280, but some of the 
  9. screen labels are unreadable if you have set helv=helvetica in either the 
  10. synonyms or Aliases section of the ATM.ini file.
  11.      The program will display the full character set on the screen for 
  12. all LXO's that have screen fonts.  In the case of the GS 1280...all of them.  
  13. If you are not using an LM display the program will still print the list of
  14. the entire LXO directory in all font weights (Normal, Bold, Italic and Bold 
  15. Italic).  There were a few exceptions where the second weight was not Bold, 
  16. but was in fact Italic.  The exceptions found in the 135 fonts have been 
  17. taken into consideration and will print correctly.
  18.      I have found that resetting the printer driver to 300 dpi will speed 
  19. up the printing and looks good enough for a font catalog.  If you wish to 
  20. view a different single character in the selected font you only need to 
  21. change the character view.  This is done by clicking on the scroll bar in 
  22. the display text window, editing the character number or by editing the 
  23. character itself.
  24.      The custom text button will clear the display window and allow you to 
  25. type in your own text in the selected font for viewing only.
  26.      The Print routine will give you a font count, and print 10 fonts per 
  27. page with sample text and may be canceled at any time.  The Printer fontlist
  28. allows you to start or restart from any font name in the list in the event 
  29. your printer eats a page and you don't want to print the entire catalog again.
  30. The font number next to the list updates as the fonts are selected, and the 
  31. print routine will tell you how many fonts are left to print.
  32.      I can't find any bugs, but would appreciate hearing from anyone who
  33. does.  There was a problem with ITC Clearface Black either printing both as 
  34. normal or both as italic.  I believe I found a way around it, but it
  35. still acts up on occasion.
  36.     The program was developed on a Zenith 386/16 - LaserMaster Profes-
  37. sional Controller - 4 Meg - LM Software ver 358B - Laserjet III and a GS1280 
  38. display. The program requires VBRUN100.dll to run, available on most BBS's.
